NBTFHF 2010 Winter Convention Report

By Stephen Scott

The New Brunswick Trappers and Fur Harvesters Federation held it’s annual Winter Convention at the Fredericton Inn in Fredericton NB on the 16 Jan . The local area Fredericton Trappers Council hosted the event. The event had an excellent turn out with over 500 people attending. Some of the highlights were Pelt preparation on the main floor, 2007 Canadian duck calling champion Matt Wilson demonstrating his duck and goose calling skills, Snowmobile leg hold set for coyotes by Frank Hathaway, Fur fashion show by Fur & Things, Fur grading by NAFA , Kids muskrat skinning competition and last but not least the annual education best booth competition between the various councils across the province. The overall event was followed up with a dinner, dance and auction. Fun was had by all and will be Hosted in the same location in 2011 by Moncton Trappers Council.

I would like to put out a Special Thanks to all the people that helped me ensure we had a fun and successful 2010 Convention.
