Welcome, Trappers
Welcome, Trappers
The NBTFHF originated in January 1996 with the amalgamation of the New Brunswick Trappers Association, which originated in 1974 and the New Brunswick Fur Harvesters Association, which originated in 1993. We are currently the only recognized Provincial trapping association in New Brunswick.
Now that the 2026 Convention has come to a close and the dust (snowy icy roads) has settled. I'd like to Thank everyone for coming to the New Brunswick Trappers & Fur Harvesters Federation Annual Convention, and I hope everyone had a safe drive home.
I hope all attendees had a good time, it seemed like a smooth weekend with several hundred in attendance. All of the organizers and volunteers did a wonderful job and I'd like to thank them for the tremendous help and contribution. I'd also like to thank all the councils that entered booths and all the vendors for coming out and supporting the federation. With a huge thanks to our valued sponsors.
I'd like to congratulate everyone that received an award for participation in the convention, and special congrats to those who received awards for extra efforts put in by individuals like The Trapper of the Year: James Ritchie, the receiver of the Don Dickie Award: Tom Nicholson, The King Skinner Award: Serge Guitard, The Green Pelt King Skinner Award : Carl Hunter and the Junior King Skinner Award: Eric Smith.
I'd like to thank everyone for the opportunity to be the President of the Federation, I will do my best to represent you over the next year.
I hope everyone has a good and successful trapping season.
